Select a complete 1 through 6 cavity system by housing role, terminal gender, conductor size, cable outside diameter, seal, and cavity-plug requirements.

Start with circuit count and mating role. Then select the contact for conductor size and select the cable seal from the finished cable outside diameter first. Insulation thickness can make two wires with the same AWG require different seals.
Choose cavity count, mating half, keying, and color.
Match pin or socket form, conductor gauge, and conductor construction.
Match the measured cable OD to a published seal range.
Add a 12010300 cavity plug wherever no terminated wire is installed.
Crimp contact and seal correctly, push-to-seat the terminal, then perform a retention tug check.
Verify terminal lock, secondary retention, keying, and full connector engagement.
These retained black housing pairs cover 1 through 6 cavities. Aptiv also catalogs coded or colored alternates, including red 3-way part 12015092, so release the exact MPN rather than a generic description.
| Cavities | Pin-contact half | Socket-contact half | Release check |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 12010996 | 12015791 | Keying, color, cavity ID |
| 2 | 12010973 | 12015792 | Keying, color, cavity ID |
| 3 | 12010717 | 12015793 | Keying, color, cavity ID |
| 4 | 12010974 | 12015797 | Keying, color, cavity ID |
| 5 | 12034342 | 15324197 | Keying, color, cavity ID |
| 6 | 12010975 | 12015799 | Keying, color, cavity ID |
The ranges below are exact terminal records in the verified family subset. Contact and seal limits are separate checks. The 12 AWG terminals have additional Aptiv-validated insulation bands, but they are disjoint; this table shows the conservative continuous band supported by the gray seal.
Choose the narrowest compatible range for the actual cable OD. Use cavity plug 12010300 only for an unused position, not as a substitute for a cable seal on a terminated wire.
| Seal MPN | Color | Cable OD |
|---|---|---|
| 15324983 | Red-brown | 1.29 to 1.70 mm |
| 15324985 | Violet | 1.60 to 2.15 mm |
| 15324982 | Green | 2.03 to 2.85 mm |
| 15324980 | Gray | 2.81 to 3.49 mm |
A Weather Pack housing is not waterproof by itself. A defensible build controls housing compatibility, conductor and insulation dimensions, terminal and seal selection, crimp quality, unused cavities, and full mating engagement.
A housing is not waterproof by itself. Environmental performance depends on a complete, correctly assembled system: mating housings, compatible contacts, a cable seal matched to each conductor's outside diameter, cavity plugs in unused positions, sound crimps, and full mating engagement.
Measure or obtain the finished cable outside diameter, then choose a Weather Pack seal whose published range contains that diameter. Wire gauge alone does not determine seal fit because insulation thickness varies by wire construction.
The standard family set shown here covers 1 through 6 cavities in mating pin-contact and socket-contact housing halves. Confirm exact keying, color, and part number before release.
Yes. Use the compatible 12010300 cavity plug in every unused cavity when the assembly needs a complete environmental sealing path.
No. Both are Aptiv sealed-connector ecosystems, but the housings, terminals, seals, keying, and application ranges are family-specific. Do not select parts by visual similarity.
